Antiqueearly Tinker Toy Set W/original Cannisterc.1915
Now this ought to bring back some memories! This is a wonderful old toy cannister from The Toy Tinkers Inc., Evanston, Ill. USA, with 1914 and 1915 copyrights. This is in rough shape, but still a nice antique toy. Cap and bottom are both rusty, and the cardboard threading is rough. Soiling, tears and disclorations on label, as well as a fading of the red color. Inside there are 30 spools, 8 smooth connectors, and 11 turned connectors. Vintage Irish ashtray made by Carrigaline Pottery, Ltd, County Cork, Ireland, which is no longer in business, closed in 2003. It is shamrock shaped, and has the image of a caravan, tinker's or traveler's wagon surrounded by shamrocks. It has gold painted trim which has rubbed off in some areas slightly. The glaze has crazing throughout and there is a small darkened area under the glazing which can be seen in the photo left side. There are no chips or cracks. It is 6" X 6" From a non-smoking home.
